Community Mediation

A disagreement with a neighbour, roommate, family member, friend, landlord, community member, or someone else, can create stress in your life and make you angry or afraid. Conflicts that are left unresolved or are poorly managed often get worse.

Our free, confidential and voluntary community mediation service helps you change the way you communicate during conflict and provides a collaborative approach to conflict resolution. Since 1985, we’ve handled more than 6,000 cases and helped participants come to an agreement 80% of the time.

Drop in and Mobile Services

For people who are homeless and struggling with substance use, the need for basic services has never been greater. Whether our services are offered on site or in the community, we use a trauma-informed approach to provide life-saving support, including overdose prevention, harm reduction, nutritious meals, and crisis counselling. By offering low-barrier services, our staff builds trust and encourages people to access the essential long-term care they need through referrals to other services, health care providers, housing services and support groups.

Norm Houghton Complex

Located in Toronto's east-end, the Norm Houghton Complex has two buildings: Our 680 Kingston Road building is for independent seniors, and has support services available. Our 11 Main Street building is home to families, singles and seniors. The buildings are connected with a courtyard that has a playground, seating area and a garden where residents can grow their own vegetables.

Peer Programs

The struggle for people who are homeless and living with substance use issues is constant. Peer workers know this all too well. Their lived experience gives them insight and emotional awareness to help people who are going through what the peers did. By acting as mentors and advocates, peer workers play a critical role in helping people access the life-saving services they need, while gaining stability in their own lives by improving their skills and getting paid for meaningful work.

Women's Settlement Program

Our Women’s Settlement Program offers a welcoming space to make friends and gain valuable support. You'll learn about applying for schools and healthcare, immigration, self-care, job searches and everything you need to make Canada your new home!
